I LOVE this...

Photobucket

I took this shot of my husband and son when we were visiting my grandparents earlier this year. I was so happy when I saw it. I forgot I had taken it. I love photography.

Pictures of the grandparents are coming...

The A. Family

I was able to take pictures of my sister's family while visiting Utah this week. We've gone through all the shots to pick favorites and I couldn't wait until I got home to edit a few of them:

A. was cutting a tooth the day we took these. She was a trooper.

I love when I'm able to take a picture that captures a personality -
or in this case, sums up my sister and brother-in-law's relationship.

M. was a total supermodel for the first part of the session. Then she started with her cheeser grins - which were still cute, but not as cute as the shots I got at the beginning.

We took M.'s new coat for a test in the snow. I think it helped her run faster!

More of a snow weekend, actually. Hope you are safe and warm wherever you are!

Decorating the Outside Tree

At our house, we have our lovely, pre-lit, artificial inside tree. And then, we have our outside tree.

When we first moved to our house, my husband came up with the idea to hang huge ornaments in our tree outside. He found the ornaments at various stores and recruited me to hold the bottom of the ladder while he scaled it and hung the ornaments - all the while wishing for a cherry picker truck. As I stood at the bottom of the ladder in the snow, 5 months pregnant, I decided this is not a tradition I enjoy participating in. I love the results - the tree really looks great - but the hanging of the ornaments makes me slightly nervous. And I'm not nervous much.

Last year, we were lucky to have Diggity's daughter visiting and she was the one to assist in the ornament hanging. And this year, my brother, sis-in-law and nephew took over the assistant role. I'm recruiting assistants for next year. Anyone interested in a trip to New England next Thanksgiving? We have a nice guest room. :)

Thanksgiving

I was going back through some pictures and found some I hadn't posted from Thanksgiving morning:

We love our Christmas bulb walkway lights. So did the boys.

M. is happy with his dad in this picture.

Photobucket

Not so much here.

He is the most hilarious thing when he cries. And I always take pictures of it. I know...I'm a mean aunt. But, it's a huge part of his cute little dramatic personality. And since I'm trying to capture that, I have to take the crying pictures too, right?

Thanks. I feel better. So does M.

Full disclosure on these next two shots...

My brother was TOTALLY goofing around when I took these. I had been taking pictures of G-Man and turned the camera on my brother. His modeling instinct kicked in and he started joking around with his facial expressions. Even though I know he was just having fun, I really like the way these two shots turned out. And I like them even more in black & white than I did in color.

The S. Family, Part 1

Obviously, I'm prejudiced. They're my family. But I really love the way their pictures turned out. I'm having a hard time deciding which ones to post, so I'm posting all my favorites from the ones we picked out together.

Sure, I could post all my favorites in one post. But I figure, why not two posts? Then you'll come back around and see more! :)

Enjoy!

S. Family Preview

Remember our cute cousins (and G-Man's adorable aunt) that came to visit last month? They came back for Thanksgiving and this time, my brother came along too. We were able to go back to the sawmill and get some shots of the entire family. It was cold, and some of the shots were a bit challenging, but we ended up with some great stuff.

I just finished designing their Christmas card (I ordered them last night, you guys! Watch for the UPS man!) and wanted to put up a quick preview of one of the poses I didn't use for the card.

Photobucket

Aren't they the cutest? I'll try to post their card after the holidays. Or after they mail them out. If you're getting one in the mail, you'll want to be surprised. :)

Mr. and Mrs. L + Family

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get shots of the L parents. They are some of the best people I know - I hope you can see that in the pictures.

And finally, our last two family group setups. Enjoy the pictures, L Family! I had a great time shooting the pictures and editing them! And I'm thrilled that everyone is feeling better.

The L Kids

Only one more post after this one. What can I say? They're a beautiful family and I took a LOT of pictures.
